The Mayor of Greater Istanbul, Akram Imamoglu, announced the construction of 91.5 km long lines by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the railway network in Istanbul will reach 424.85 km.

In the details, Turkish media reported, according to what was translated by Turkey Today, that Akram Imamoglu said that the time will be between Beylikduzu and Sabiha Airport, which will be reduced to an hour at the end of 2021.

He added that preparations are underway for the tender and the project is Beylikduzu - Esenyurt - Sivakoy - Engirli metro line. ”The second project constitutes the second railway system between Asia and Europe and this is Beylikduzu, Bagcilar, Esenler, Bayrampasa, Gaziosmanpasa, which will make life easier for residents Istanbulites who live in 17 different regions.

Imamoglu explained that the project will be completed at the end of 2021 and a tender will be held.

He pointed out that the second line of the railway system, which will cross the east-west axis from one end to the other, while the average speed of the metro lines in Istanbul is 35 kilometers, and the distance between Beylikduzu and Sabiha Gökçen will decrease to one hour.

He stressed that the models are mixed, such as cooperation between the public and private sectors to finance this line, which is estimated at $ 6 billion, including construction and metro vehicles. We aim to complete the 2021 project for the Hazray project, which we started the preliminary design and feasibility study at the end of 2020.
